This generator was built by Ready Utilities on the same engine as the site's invoice builder. The quote and estimate distinction follows the guidance published by SumUp and FreshBooks, and the convert-to-invoice step carries the lines across without retyping. It runs in your browser and stores nothing you type unless you choose to save your business details on this device.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a quote and an estimate?

A quote is a fixed price for the work described; an estimate is an approximation that may change. Pick the label that matches what you are promising; the sheet prints the matching line so the client knows which one it is.

Is a quote legally binding?

Once the client accepts it, ideally in writing, it becomes part of the agreement. Until then it is an offer. That is why the sheet carries a validity date.

How do I turn the quote into an invoice?

Press Convert to invoice. The line items, client, and totals carry over, the title changes to INVOICE, a fresh invoice number is assigned, and the validity date becomes a due date from the term you pick.

Is this quote generator free?

Yes. No signup, no watermark, nothing stored unless you choose to save your business details on this device.

Should a quote include tax?

Show tax the way the invoice will show it, so the client is not surprised later. Use the tax type and rate fields, and the prices-include-tax toggle if your prices already include it.

How long should a quote be valid?

Long enough for the client to decide, short enough that your costs do not move. Fourteen to thirty days is common; the validity date defaults to 30 days out.
